Spiritual Direction
Welcome!
My hope is that this is a safe and brave space for you to explore spiritual direction, spirituality, and theology. Here, Mystery is valued and questions are welcomed. There is no separation between sacred and secular - We are holistic human beings whose parts are integrated, which means that it all belongs. The foundation of this work is the belief that humans - yes, YOU! - are dearly loved and liked by God! There is a force of Love that is deep and abiding and serves as a beautiful Connector to help you be present to your life.
About spiritual direction:
Spiritual direction assumes that Love is at work in every area of our lives: our relationships, work, leisure, play and quiet. We welcome doubt, frustration, and pain as well as certainty, joy, and healing. In this practice of being present, the client/directee is invited to bring all parts of themselves, understanding that by Creative design, it all belongs. An experienced companion (spiritual director) can often help you notice invitations and respond to what is sirring within, in a private and confidential setting. In Spiritual Direction, the director will be present and hold space with you. Whatever is stirring up in you is welcome, as authenticity and honesty are valued.

Spiritual Direction Sessions
I offer two types of one-on-one sessions: Spiritual Direction and Theological Processing
Spiritual Direction sessions are similar to a counseling/therapy session in style, but the focus is on spiritual issues and practices and what is being stirred up spiritually within the client.
Theological Processing sessions are more topically specific. A client may be considering/wrestling with a particular theological issue or may be interested in a more broad concept like "image of God". In these sessions, we consider the methods of processing theology and various viewpoints of Scripture, and how these viewpoints affect our view of God.
At times there will be cross over in sessions, although the general flow of the sessions will be either SD or TP. I sometimes recommend TP sessions to clients if a theological matter seems to act as a roadblock in SD.

- Women's issues with the church and spirituality
- LGBTQ+ (I am fully affirming and inclusive; I do not utilize nor condone any form of reparative therapy.)
